Animal rescue has been the most valuable and humbling experience ever. I initally rescued a dog, still lived in town… came to the Gods Country… 20 miles from town. I eas a city girl wirking in a fluff industry. I met horse on vaca in 1990, in 2002 i sold out and bought this hobby farm. Since i have rescued a horse, numerous cats, 4-5 dogs, including the love of my life…. Duke He found me…. A dane pointer mix that someone tossed. He had heart worms. Anyway, Duke literally walked down my driveway one Nov morning Skin and bones. Scared to death. He had been abused I fed him He had to eat in solitare…. He was punished for eating! I fed him 2 mornings in a row… he would snrak off. 3rd morning i look out and he was in my pool area. I fuxed his breakfast… but no duke in carport to eat????? This poor 90 lb lug had falken into the pool and was getting very cold. We had our first contact tjat day and though we only had 10 yrs…. I still adore him and talk to every day. If anyone wants to hear about my next rescue- a pit mix who was so abused he had to have steel rods in legs for 4 mo….. Patch the Pit. Great stiry Great dog. Best cat exp was me rescuing a TUXEDO MUNCHKIN!!!! He is AMAZING and had his own house fir several months…. Then came he triplet red cats Omg they were 4 weeks and scared … one week later they were happily playing in the playground i made them in a barn stsll whete secure. Those kittens made me laugh love and put effort into. The triplets. Only one lrft now, DOOBIE ANN, who is rubbimg my ankles now… wanting more love. Well this is long snd true O hope it helps,
